Wow, great photos being uploaded lately! Keep 'em coming!

Airstream Life magazine is looking for photos for the Summer 2010 issue! We need to illustrate articles about using checklists, tire failures, Airstream scale models, and Airstream musicians. Send me a message or post your photos here if you've got something that might work.

December Pancakes

(New Bern, NC) Its Saturday morning in the Airstream. And that means, of course, Pancakes!

Outside in New Bern, its windy, cold, wet. Where we used to make our home in Northern Virginia, there is a Snow Emergency, major routes are closed and the National Guard has been called out. Over a foot of snow is on the ground, and its still falling there as I write these sentences. This, in a region where few can drive well at all even on dry pavement. Its good to be here and not there.… Continue

Radio Days

(New Bern, NC) I cannot understand when being a nerd became cool. I also can’t understand when being a nerd became being a geek. But only geeks and nerds would quibbles about such labels and classifications.

Years and years ago, in time out of mind, I loved things geek-like and nerdy. And I am guilty of being a radio nerd. It led me into all sorts of unsatisfactory diversions such as community theatres sound support, underground theatres and eventually the world of sideshow. But I did love clun… Continue

Life: The Reinvention

Everyone in my former stationary life, with few exceptions, on hearing about this brand new adventure of living full-time on the road expressed pretty much the same sentiment: I was extremely lucky to have a huge amount of free time to do with what I would wish, and they wished they could be doing exactly the same thing.

For the most part, I was in full agreement with this train of thought and very much looking forward to the enormous blocks of open time that such a lifestyle was sure to afford… Continue

Christmas Candle Light in New Bern, NC.

[NEW BERN, N.C] Camped as I am in a small town in North Carolina, having fun is not too hard to do, despite weather and other challenges. Its Christmas time in the South.

It seems the winter drizzle and fog has descended upon us, yet the fact of high temperatures, and the ability to keep windows open, reminds us that the south is the place to be this time of year.

That and work! I am performing at the main historic site in the area: Tryon Palace and Gardens, (… Continue

Thanksgiving & My Birthday

This holiday season was spent with some very special friends that I have know most of my life that live in Brandon, Florida. The Hall family I have know since 1968 and to this day our friendship has lasted through so much. If it was not right I would have to say it would of ended a long time ago. We all had a fantastic Thanksgiving dinner and with prayer that touched my heart of the people we have lost in our family. Our thoughts were with them and it was a spiritual time for all of us. I'm glad… Continue
