If you want a gas engine SUV, you've got plenty of choices. We used a Nissan Armada for three years of full timing and were quite happy towing our 30' Safari (GVWR 8400). For diesel SUV there are very few choices, and all are European makes. We now…

About Me:
I am a businessman in Boston. Married with 5 grown children and 3 grandchildren. We also have a home in Missoula, Montana. I am an avid fly fisherman ( salt and fresh water), doubles squash player, and amateur photographer. My wife and I travel quite a lot and hope to tour the US in our Airstream. This has been our dream for the last twenty years and is now, finally, close to being realized.

Perfect tow vehicle?

We are in the process of acquiring a 28' International, that has a gross weight of 7,600 Lbs. We are going to need to buy a new tow vehicle and would like to hear opinions on what you recommend as the "best" vehicle to buy. We would also like to know your opinions on what NOT to buy. We probably want an SUV, not a pick up truck.

Thanks,
Rich and Christina
