We are in San Diego currently- and I'm at least a month behind on blogging. I will probably just upload some pics of the places we've been, rather than blather on about what we've been doing.
Everything is fantastic. Maya and I have been to Sea World, the San Diego Zoo, and Pacific Beach twice this week. We have had perfect weather and we got to hang out with our friends and even met some new people.
I'm going to try and catch up this week. But I'm not making any promises!
I'll just give you all a rundown of the last month. From Chicago we went to Wisconsin, then to Mankato, MN and Northwood, IA for Frank's family reunion. We headed to Jackson, MN to spend the night with my cousin. Then on to the Badlands in SD and to Mount Rushmore. We spent about a week in Fort Collins, and then took 3 days to get to Phoenix. We stayed at two state parks in Colorado that were beautiful. Rifle Falls, and then on to Ridgway. Ridgway was awesome and I wish all state parks were built like this. Tons of space between the camps, and views from every spot. We took the 550 aka the Million Dollar Highway down to Durango. It is aptly named. It was an amazing trip. Even scarier in a truck pulling a 30' trailer, but it was soooo beautiful. Poor Frank was white knuckled the whole way. It is a narrow 2 lane and steep! No guard rails on this road! The Tundra did beautifully. We have been concerned about what it may be able to pull, but we had no trouble. We had lunch in Durango then headed on to Holbrook, AZ. We spent the night at a KOA there and then the next day headed down to our friend's home in Heber. It was a beautiful day in the mountains and we were treated to a wonderful meal.
We moved on to Chandler and spent a few days in the valley. It was hot. Really hot.
And so here we are in San Diego. We'll be off to Santa Barbara shortly. It should be interesting, since all the campgrounds and RV parks are booked! Wal-Mart here we come!
